Sourced from certified organic, grass-fed cows and raised free from synthetic pesticides, hormones and GMOs, Three Oaks milk is gently pasteurised at a low heat — just enough to deal with any pathogen risk while keeping much of the good butterfat and flavour intact. It's whole milk, single origin, and never homogenised or standardised, so you're getting it close to how it comes off the farm.
What makes a good pasteurised milk
- Whole milk retains the most nutritional value, since it's been through the least processing
- Single origin means it all comes from one farm and herd, rather than being blended
- Low heat pasteurisation keeps more of the natural butterfat, omega-3 and iodine than high-heat processing
- Homogenisation breaks down the fat structure so your body can't process it as well — we avoid this
- Standardised milk has been reconstituted with water, losing nutritional value along the way — we avoid this too
