Confirmed genuine Manuka
The lab checks the honey's DNA to confirm it truly came from manuka blossom, plus tests for specific marker chemicals unique to manuka. This batch passed both checks comfortably — it's the real deal.
Multifloral vs Monofloral
Manuka honey is classified as either Multifloral (a blend with other nectars, more mellow) or Monofloral (near-pure manuka, more intense). This batch is genuine, verified Multifloral Manuka.
MGO — the number that matters
MGO (Methylglyoxal) is the compound behind manuka honey's famous antibacterial properties — it's not found in regular honey. The higher the number, the more potent the honey. This batch: 219 mg/kg.
Why does the label say 83+ if it's really 219?
Honey is natural, and potency varies batch to batch. We label conservatively using a guaranteed minimum, so you're never short-changed — this batch simply outperformed it, significantly.
DHA — 384 mg/kg
This is the "raw material" that slowly converts into MGO as honey matures. A high DHA reading means there's still more potency to develop over time.
HMF — 17.0 mg/kg
HMF builds up with heat exposure or age. A low reading (like this one) means the honey is fresh and hasn't been overheated during processing.
NPA — estimated 9.0
A rough UMF-style rating calculated from the MGO result, useful if you're more familiar with UMF grading. Note: this is a calculated estimate, not a directly measured/accredited result.
Moisture — 16.7%
A simple quality check confirming the honey is within the safe range and won't ferment in the jar.
